It's one of Nick Saban's coaching philosophies. You teach players to simply "do your job" for 4-6 seconds. You don't worry about what others are doing or what's going on around you. The collective result is a cohesive effort.

We always want to blame someone when things aren't going right.
Blame Whit - It's more of the same from Utah's offense
Blame Taylor - We have no flow or no identity
Blame Harding - Our offensive line hasn't lived up to expectations (I thought they were better this week)
Blame Huntley, blame the refs, blame someone

The truth from last night - Utah's failures on offense are a result of collective failure to execute. Yeah, yeah, that sounds pretty cliche. But if you re-watch the game, you will see individual critical mistakes repeated at the worst times possible.

Covey's fumble, Boyd's fumble (inexcusable), Huntley's INT, Huntley's overthrowing a wide open TD or throwing too hard and high to a wide open player for another TD, offensive holding on key first downs, a player inexplicably just throwing the ball out of bounds when he is about to run in for a TD, penalties that overturned turnovers (yes, controversial), dropped passes, and more.

The problem is that these mistakes have killed scores, drives, big plays and more. They influence play calling. How can you get in a groove or develop an identity when you can't trust certain players or plays? They sap confidence and lead to further mistakes as players try too hard or think too much.

This bye week is coming at the perfect time. The offense needs to develop some swagger and some confidence that they can execute and succeed. They need a couple of players to start stepping up. The South is still in play and this team is capable of winning it if they can put it together offensively. But it starts with people doing their job.
