What a game right? To handle 6 turnovers, and only give up 13 points speaks volumes to the defense and the reputation they are building. It wasn't a clean game and there were some horrible missed assignments but I believe this unit took a step forward as a whole.
Here is what I noticed:
-The secondary/ cornerbacks played well and were able to get some big break ups. I thought Reggie Porter played phenomenal.
-Defense controlled the Run game and contained a good back in Jamaal Williams.
-Where I saw struggling in the run game was with containment and mistackles. At times our pursuit also put us out of position to make a play.
-If the defense can get more pressure and finish the blitz with a sack instead of a mistakle that will take this group to the next level.
I also saw Kylie Fitts in a boot and know that he has been battling a nagging injury since the end of camp.
