I've slowly been filtering through results of the CTE Study (here is a pretty good link about it)

CTE is a degenerative disease that arises from repeated blows to the head (think boxers, football, soccer). So a researcher examined 202 football players brains. Of the 111 that played in the NFL, she found CTE present in 110.

Anyway, after reading all of this, I'm sort of questioning whether my fandom is indirectly (or directly) supporting this and what my moral obligation is going forward. I don't think I would let my kids play football knowing what we now know. However, it raises some interesting moral questions:

Is it hypocritical to continue supporting other kids doing something I think endangers their health?
Am I supporting these kids in a way that will eventually ruin their lives?
Is playing in college no worse than any other activity, but the pros much worse?

What are your guys thoughts?
