Over/Under of him ever seeing the field?
Back in February BYU signee Charles West was charged with felony assault. Over the July 4th weekend, West was a victim in a shooting with a bullet being fired into his left arm.
The shooting incident reportedly took place Sunday at his old middle school, Coppell Middle School East. He and others were playing basketball when, according to The Dallas Morning News, a man walked up and shot West in the arm. West started running and was later transported to a nearby hospital for treatment on his arm. He was released Sunday night and police are still investigating the situation. It is unknown if West was a target, and no suspect has been apprehended.
It is also unknown if this incident has any connection to West’s previous arrest in February. West was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana just two days after National Signing Day.
A lawyer representing West says this latest shooting incident will have no impact on his client’s status at BYU.
