Wilson and Johnson…

Nate Johnson put out that Utah re-offered him recently, and the intrigue there is that he’s willing to come as an athlete. There’s also the door open that maybe Jason Beck system could fit him a little bit better as a QB. If my money is on it and he comes to Utah. It would most likely end up as a wide receiver. I think the program familiarity wins out.

Now, here’s the crazy thing… It’s been well noted that plenty of things didn’t go well for Wilson’s season at Utah—and not just noted by me—but it doesn’t seem like the portal interest is there that they were initially hoping. I’ve heard remarks lately that Whittingham could open the door back for Isaac but I kind of brushed them off knowing the chaos from this year. Whittingham is willing to take him back. Obviously this would be for far less NIL then was being hoped for because I know that the family was optimistic that Isaac could at least land a $1 million NIL deal.

I expect Wilson back at Utah.

NEW COMMIT: Donovan Saunders, CB, Texas A&M

The Utes just secured the commitment of former Texas A&M and Cal Poly corner Donovan Saunders!

He played in a reserve role with the Aggies last season, but was outstanding at Cal Poly in 2023, when he had 3 interceptions and 11 pass deflections. He's got great height and speed and has a chance to lock up a starting position this spring.
