For the first time ever, Netflix is bringing a live boxing match to its platform.
Fans of boxing are typically used to watching cards on pay-per-view outlets, whether that be on ESPN+, DAZN, or Showtime. However, the bout on Friday night between Jake Paul and the legendary Mike Tyson won't be viewed in a typical format.
Paul vs. Tyson solely is available on Netflix. It isn't your typical card, as fans won't be paying a one-time price to watch the event. Those who are interested in seeing the bout between the 27-year-old and the 58-year-old will have to subscribe to Netflix in order to take in the action.
The weigh-in for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is complete, and the next time the fighters see each other, they’ll be punch-swapping before a packed AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Nov. 15. However, the action almost started early when Tyson slapped the younger man across the face during the traditional face-off.
Paul, 27, came in at 227 pounds, the heaviest weight of his five-year professional career. The Ohio-born YouTuber weighed a career-high 200 pounds for a TKO 6 win over Mike Perry in July, so he’s added the requisite bulk to compete against a natural, albeit ancient, heavyweight.
Mike Tyson slaps Jake Paul video
"He's made it personal now, and I'm gonna knock him the f**k out," screamed Paul in response to being slapped. "He hits like a bitch.... he must die!!!"
At 228.4 pounds, Tyson looked in great condition for a man of 58, but it remains to be seen if that translates into an acceptable performance on fight night. In his heyday, the former undisputed heavyweight champion hovered around the 215-pound mark, but he was as high as 239 when his career was winding down in the early 2000s.dsfsfsdfsdf
