Whittingham—
-Brewer was clean like he was all spring. Quick decision maker. Accurate. Going to be a great battle between him and Cam. He’s really integrated well into the program. Re-emphasized that Cam was the starter in the fall over a seasoned guy, so that should indicate how highly they think of him and his talent.

-Loved having fans back in the stands, regardless of it being limited to 6,000. Demand was high enough they probably could have had 20,000.

-No real plans to move Jackson to running back. They believe he has a high ceiling and they’ll see how he does in the fall for a Wildcat type package. He made a lot of progress this spring.

-Both Costelli and Jackson showed good signs. They’re still learning, it’s a process. They hold on to the ball a little too long at times.

-Very positive performance between all three running backs. They think the position will be just fine and very productive for them.

-They’ll name a player this fall that’s a receipt of the Ty Jordan scholarship fund.

-Believes they’re going to be a complete football team in the fall, and that all questions they had coming into spring were answered. Feels like they’re going to be a pretty good team in the fall.

Lloyd (didn’t play, was interviewed)—
-He feels like there were a lot of positives from what he saw today.

-Charlie is a tough, instinctual and accurate QB.

-He can see that this team is truly hungry and really wants to win a championship. It’s really shown more from some of the guys through their work ethic this spring.

-Overall he was impressed with the defensive ends today and he also highlighted linebacker Karene Reid.

-It maybe summer break, but now it’s time to evaluate yourself and get better at where you can improve.

-Mason Tufaga is a heavy hitter that once he gets his weight in a good spot and learns the defense, he’s going to be a player.

-Trey Reynolds works his tail off with the little things. Made a lot of plays this spring and is a film junkie.

Enis—
-Brewer is as advertised. He’s consistent. If you get open, he’s going to get you the ball.

-This spring, he really tapped into the playbook a lot more than just learning his position. Just really focusing on the extra details.

-Devaughn Vele has been their secret weapon for a minute, now. He’s consistent, reliable, and ready. He’s ready to go.

-He missed even just hearing the normal fan noise. Today was a sigh of relief. Asked the fans to continue to wear their masks and vaccinate, so they can have full stands in the fall.

Brewer—
-He deflected the praise from a question about being perfect on the day. Said he thought it was fun for them to get out there, play, and play well.

-Plans on doing a ton of throwing with the guys this summer.

-Feels very comfortable with the offense and the playbook. Says there’s still a lot he can learn, too. Happy with the progress to it though.

-Has very high expectations for Vele. Called him a complete receiver with six and can high-point the ball jumping out of the gym. Expects him to have a big fall.

Vele—
-Really just been focused on doing his job and learning the offense more and more. Believes they can be a really good team coming into the fall.

-The biggest thing he could learn is having and maintaining confidence in his play. He’s ready to step up and last year was a big learning experience for him.

-The five games in the fall really helped him by making him realize his role, what he can be, and gaining a better work ethic.

-Loves the chemistry and relationship he has with Brewer.
